Exchange of Students and Young Researchers

Support of students and young researchers has been one of the main goals of the faculty program since the beginning. Students are encouraged to take lectures and participate in courses and seminars at the respective partner institution. PhD students and postdocs are frequently conducting experimental studies in the respective partner labs in Hohenheim and Rehovot. The mobility is partly organized in the frame of joint research projects, but also with the help of grants by the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung (formerly Landesstiftung) and the Landtag (State Parliament) of Baden-Württemberg. Some examples of the most recent exchanges are listed below.

Euroleague for Life Sciences ELLS - Summer School 2015
As an international ELLS partner, the Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem organized a summer school on "Productivity of Crops Irrigated with Desalinated Seawater and Reclaimed Wastewater in the Middle East" from 29 June - 09 July 2015. Gesa Pauer, Franziska Rupp, Luke Schafer, and Rhys Thompson were the participants from University of Hohenheim with GP and FR receiving grants of the Landtag Baden-Württemberg, and LS and RT receiving travel support from ELLS.
